What do these two have in common? Everything! Jesus said "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives", John 12:24 (NLT). A seed can never be more than a seed until it's planted. But once planted it finds and fulfills its potential. Every time a seed is planted it dies to itself and resurrects to a new life, a life that produces an abundant harvest. This is exactly what Jesus did. God sowed a seed, His one and only son Jesus, after 3 days in the ground He resurrected to a new life that brought forth an abundant harvest of adopted children, you and me. So what do spring flowers have to do with the resurrection? Any time you see a seed that has been planted, pushing up out of the ground, displaying new life, it's proclaiming the resurrection of Jesus. As the lyric of an old song said, "I marvel at the wisdom of my God every time I see a tiny lily pushing up out of the sod, I marvel at the wisdom of my God. When they crucified the Father's only son, they laid Him in the grave and thought they'd won, but just like the tiny lily He pushed up out the mighty sod so I marvel at the wisdom of my God." Happy Resurrection Day!!!
